I love the poll. This is one of my pet topics to discuss in my education classes (I am studying to be a teacher at Marquette). I used to think that technology brought people together but when I worked in sales, a people business full of communication tech, I noticed that everyone was very isolated. After I went back to school, I read an article that talked about how communication technology is dividing. Basically, the article made the case that TV caused people to talk less and that cell phones dehumanized conversations. While I can't comment much on their evidence I can say that since I left sales, I stopped watching TV, quit using my cell phone as often and started bike commuting and since then nearly all of my relationships have improved. Maybe there is a connection, maybe not but I like the changes.
